When I think of Aunt Esther, I think of lemon chiffon cake, pumpkin chiffon pie, and Christmas. Even before she married uncle Joe, she baked for family gatherings. From my mid teens on, Christmas night was always at her house. A wonderful time with family and friends. My love and prayers go out to Gay, Joe, and Jeannie. Alice-Rose

Dear Gay and Family...
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I will always remember Esther fondly! She was one of the "Ladies of the Parish" that I admired growing up - and continued to admire as an adult!

For 28 years, I was lucky to have Esther as the most perfect mother-in-law that any woman could ask for. So much knowledge about parenting, cooking and gardening was graciously imparted. There are so many family traditions that I will be proud to carry on in her memory. Her presence in spirit will always be with me. In her final moments on this earth, I happened to open the Bible to Matthew 5:8-"Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God" and it truly spoke to me of the spirit of Esther.

Aunt Esther...the narrow stairs that we would sit on when we visited on Christmas after spending the day at Aunt Alice and Nana's house--we always knew that we would get to have some laughs with the Giblin and Vanner kids! I can't think of Aunt Esther without recalling Great Aunt Alice..how glamorous I thought Alice and her kids--Esther, and John were--tall, cool and composed. My Dad really liked to get together with his cousins--it was always a relaxing stop off. Later in life, I realized as I got to know Esther as an adult that my childhood perceptions were spot on--she was a pretty cool lady.
She will be missed. Keep the memories close and find peace in knowing that her life was full.
Love, Cindy

Wanted to let you know that you are in my thougths and prayers. It is so hard to loose a loved one at any point in time. I remember Aunt Ester for her laugh and cheeriness at family functions. Also when we'd come and visit on holidays. She has a wonderful family and was always so proud of all of you. God Bless
