Semon Blanck Obituary

BLANCK, SEMON, 82, of Warwick, died November 4, 2008. He was the husband of Carole (Weinstein) Blanck. They were married for 50 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Harry and Sarah (Shulman) Blanck.

Mr. Blanck was a graduate of the Admiral Faragut Academy in Tom's River, NJ. He was a Seaman III Class in the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater and receiving the Purple Heart. His passions were golf, tennis, boating and the love of his grandchildren. He was gentle and kind.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Cheryl Blanck of Newport, Susan Wilson and her husband Doug of Warwick, and Michael Blanck and his wife Lisa of Rehoboth, MA, and his grandchildren: Nathaniel and Jeremiah Wilson, and Allison and Aaron Blanck. He was the brother of the late Ethel Weinstein and Albert Blanck.

The funeral will be held TODAY, Thursday, November 6th at 11:00 AM in the Samuel Priest Chapel in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jewish War Veterans, Department of Rhode Island, PO Box 100064, Cranston, RI 02910. Shiva will be private. Arrangements by SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL.
