Robert J. Hogan

HOGAN, ROBERT J., 83, of Sugar Hill, NH, formerly of Providence, RI, passed away peacefully on September 23 at Lafayette Center in Franconia, NH.

Born in Lawrence, MA, he graduated from the former Keith Academy in Lowell, MA in 1943 and served in the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army during WWII. Following graduation from Amherst College in 1948, he moved to Providence. He attended RISD where he met his first wife the late Deborah Bolas Hogan with whom he founded Hogan & Bolas, Inc., a hand crafted jewerly firm which he operated from the early 1950's until retiring in 1992. As an avid skier, hiker, bird watcher and bicyclist, he was a long time member of the AMC, Audubon Society, Attleboro Ski Club, and the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen. He enjoyed travel, art and photography and spent many years restoring the colonial home in which he lived on Arnold Street on Providence's East Side.

Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife of 25 years, E. Charlotte Hogan of Sugar Hill, NH, and by his daughter Elizabeth A. Hogan of Warwick, Rhode Island.
