Anna Vartanian Obituary

VARTANIAN, ANNA (MERCURIO), 93, a resident of Greenville since 1966, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at home. She was the wife of the late John P. Vartanian.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Teresa (Gentile) Mercurio. Mrs. Vartanian worked for the former Hassenfeld Brothers Co. now Hasbro Toy Co. and the Holy Ghost School Cafeteria for many years. Not having children of her own, she loved the time she spent with her many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

She was the sister of Josephine Checca of Greenville, Mary Mottola of Cranston and the late Concetta Caraccia, Frank, Joseph, John, Agostino, Anthony and Salvatore Mercurio; she was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rte. 44) Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, Putnam Ave, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice Care of R.I., 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860, will be appreciated. I wish that I could be there. I am sorry that I couldn't. Aunt Anna is in a better place now that she is with her beloved husband. She will always be in my prayers.
