Melvin Levin Obituary

LEVIN, MELVIN NORMAN, 84, of Providence, formerly of Warwick died Mon., Nov. 10, 2008 at the VA Medical Center.

Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Israel and Edith (Latt) Levin. He was a WWII U. S. Army veteran having served in the Medical Corps and was involved in the 'D' day invasion. He attended Bryant College and Johnson & Wales University. Prior to his retirement in 1982 he had worked for 35 years as a Credit Manager for American Tourister, Inc. He was a member of Temple Emanu El and its Men's Club, the Redwood Lodge F & AM, B'nai Brith, and the Jewish Federation of RI.

He leaves his brother and sister-in-law, David and Devorah Levin of Providence along with many cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held Fri., Nov. 14, 2008 at 10:00 A.M., at SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 458 Hope St., Providence. Burial to follow in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: Temple Emanu El, 99 Taft Ave., Providence, RI 02906, Jewish Federation of RI, 130 Sessions St., Providence 02906 OR Jewish Community Center of RI, 401 Elmgrove Ave., Providence 02906. Shiva will be private.
