Florence Rapoza Obituary

RAPOZA, FLORENCE M. (FINNEGAN), 78, passed away surrounded by her adoring family at Elmhurst Extended Care Center on Friday, August 24, 2007. She was the loving wife of Ernest Rapoza, Jr. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 2nd of this year.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John J. and Florence Marie (Reed) Finnegan, Sr. She was a 1947 honors graduate of St. Mary Academy of the Visitation, Providence and was employed by Narragansett Electric Company for six years and at American Insulated Wire Corporation, Pawtucket for 30 years until her retirement in 1988.

Besides her husband, Florence is survived by her daughter, Karen and her husband David Bonin of Johnston; her granddaughter, Stefanie and her husband Eric Lohnes of Cumberland; and her brother John 'Jack' J. Finnegan, Jr. and his wife Theresa of Pawtucket.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Church, 155 Power Rd., Pawtucket. Burial will be in St. Frnacis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours will be Monday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are respectively requested to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10016.
