Dear Family of the late Maureen Hawes,

My sympathy for you goes deeper than words can actually express, even though Maureen was in my life, shy of one year, I had alot of first time experiences with her. She truly loved me as she loved herself. Because we lived so close to each other, we had the availability to share our deepest feelings, our best cuisine, and we hugged and kissed each other every day. She taught me for the first time how to bond with another person. She taught me conflict resolution, how to simplify my thinking, also to take a leap of faith when my feelings were hurt. I don't know if I will ever have the opportunity to be to that close to another neighbor, again. She showed God's mercy and love everywhere she went. I hope one day to emulate all of the good qualities she left on earth, as well as took with her to heaven. Near the end of her life she kept telling me that I was her guardian angel, because I was so motivated by her love, that I wanted to take care of her as much as I could. I can't imagine if I spent my entire life-time with her, and how it would have changed me. I know how fortunate you are to be related to such a dynamic woman. My blessings go to you, and I hope that this does not distance us as friends.

Love,
Philomena Curran
