Ron was born at home on June 22, 1956, in Sweet Home, Ore., to R.L. and Ursula Pickle.
On Aug. 8, 1979, Ron entered into marriage with the former Laura "Sue" Decker after they met during their service in the United States Army.
From a young age Ron had a passion for music. He was able to sit and play the piano but his true love was for the guitar and for southern rock music. Ron expressed his talent without ever learning to read music but playing by ear.
Ron was born and raised in Sweet Home, where he attended High School. Recently, Ron made his living with Ward Eaton Towing and settled into his home with his wife Sue in Mesick.
He enjoyed being by the grill, taking in time with friends over a barbecue or feasting on fried chicken.
Ron had no greater love than his family and the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren. Ron was never one to give up and will be missed for his talents and love for his family.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sue (Decker) Pickle; sons, Rodney and Arron; daughter, Brandy; father, R.L. Pickle; two older brothers, Stephen and R.L. Pickle Jr.; his sisters, Joann Serdy and Sheila Schmoits; father- and mother-in- law, Albert and Brenda Decker; five grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ursula in May of 1999.
A memorial celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the family home located at 6190 N M-37 in Mesick at 5 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Ron had such a kind heart and was always good at making you laugh and helping you see the humor in little every day things. Some of my favorite memories of Ron are when we would have discussions or debates on the topics from my ethics class at school while we were working. I really enjoyed those talks with Ron and the wonderful way he had of looking at the world.
