Alvin was retired from Lakewood Construction and was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church.
Alvin served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice; his children, Diane Bos and Nathan Johnston of San Francisco, Linda Ordos of Orlando, Fla., Bob and Marla Bos of Fennville, Connie and Fred Handwerg of Huntsville, Ala., David Bos of Traverse City, Richard and Cindy Bos of Holland, Scott Bos and Ruth Rankins of Holland; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Romeyen of Holland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gloria Veneklasen of Mears, Phillip and Helen Veneklasen of Grandville, Patricia De Pree of Carmel, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, in Holland. Rev. James Baar will be officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Holland.
An online registry book is available at www.lakeshorememorial.com for those who cannot attend the services.
