Great childhood friend. From riding bikes to playing golf and cards, it was always great to be around him. Here it is 20 years since I last saw Jim and Im thinking about him.

We did not know Jim on a personal level, but through our dealings with Van Dries. We always sought him out whenever we needed to make a purchase, knowing we would get honest advice. We could tell by our dealings with Jim through the years that he certainly must have been a wonderful father and spouse, because he certainly was a wonderful salesman. May we extend our sincerest sympathies to all your family. He will be missed by us too.

we were shocked to come home from vacation and see that Jim passed away. He was so helpful in helping us pick out furniture for our home. We really liked him, and told anyone we knew that was going to Van Dries to see Jim.

I first met Jim in the Fall of 1967, when we entered Detroit Catholic Central H.S., as fellow feshman. His wonderful sense of humor and unique perspective on the world were the foundation of our 40+ year friendship.
Jim and I have done a lot of things together, some a little crazier than others, but the main thing that bonded us was our love of golf. We played many memorable rounds, but even if we weren't playing all that well, we could always giggle with and at each other.
I'll miss that and him.

We send our condolences to Jim's family during this sad time. We first met Jim last year at Van Dries. He worked with us for several months, and during that time, we saw what a kind, and caring man of character that he was. His quiet nature, yet with a touch of humor is exactly how I would describe him also. I sent a note thanking him for his help, and he later complimented me for the note. I thought it was nice, and I was impressed that he took time, not just for the bigger details, but small caring details also. We feel privileged that our paths crossed and in that short time, he left us with a lasting impression of a man who was humble, kind, and caring. I'm certain he enriched the lives of many, and we were fortunate enough to be among those.
