"JD" Jennings D. Gentry
July 28, 1929 - December 6, 2009
"JD" passed away at the age of 80 in Lodi, CA. He is preceded in death by his first wife Georgia Gentry and son Michael Gentry. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Connie Gentry, his children Jim Gentry (Connie), Joe Gentry (Michelle), Mark Atkinson (Patti), Michael Atkinson (Paula); 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and wonderful friends.
He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on indefinitely in the many lives he has touched. He treasured the many special friendships he had developed over the years. JD owned a wheel shop for years and he also drove truck and is a retired member of the Teamsters Union. He was well known for his racing cars at "99" Speedway during the 50's, fast boats and his "Ham" radio buddies. He lived the good life and leaves us all with memories to treasure forever.

Dear Connie and family -
I was sorry to hear of JD's passing and I know he will be missed by many. I was always appreciative of your and JD's hospitality at your home in the mountains and welcoming heart. I also thoroughly enjoyed your playful banter and learned from you both that any comment followed with "sweetie, honey, cupcake or dear" was fair play. :) My thoughts are with you.

It's been a long time since Joe and I stopped by your house. But friends are something you never forget.
I know right now JD, Joe Johansen and Joe Guisti are probably up there talking about racing and deciding how to set up their cars for 99 Speedway.
My thoughts and prayers go with you as I know your loss.
