Jimmy returned to Roanoke in 1999 to become a full-time great grandpa. He delighted in telling stories of his youth and playing with his great-grandchildren and the family Delta Therapy dogs. Jimmy Cutliff was the quintessential "Campany Man." I had the pleasure of working for him and Lewis Carter right before Jimmy retired. He taught me a great deal about tariffs. He also showed me on numerous occassions that a good amount of the information that came across his desk in writing was simply not true. Jimmy paid
close attention to detail and personally double checked every important matter in which he was envolved. This was the most valuable lesson that I learned in my corparate career, and I practiced the same throughout my 33 years with the railroad.

Jimmy was a good man, and a most dedicated employee of the Norfolk & Western. He actually retired as Asst. Vice President of International Commerce.

My sincere sympathy to you and yours on his passing.
