Robert Lorton Obituary

Robert Lee (Bob) Lorton, 68, of Dublin, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was an employee of Mar-Ball. He was a retiree of Inland Motors with 31 years of service and a former employee of Pulaski Corrections Unit. He was a life member of Pulaski County Life Saving Crew and Radford Fire and Rescue. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Mitchell and Pearl Price Lorton; first wife, Charlotte Lorton; and motherin-law, Nina Linkous. Survivors include his wife, Janice Poe Lorton, of Dublin; son, Bobby Lorton, of New River; three daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and David Lawson, of Yulee, Fla., Rhonda and Doug Meadows, of Pulaski, and Lillian Edmonds and boyfriend, Matt Robertson, of Pulaski; two stepdaughters and spouses, Denise and Scott Saunders, of Draper, and Janella and Leonard Goad, of Indian Valley; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. David Lawson and the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the funeral home.
