Ruth Donald McElroy

Ruth Donald McElroy, 84, of Lexington, died Saturday, August 24, 2008. She was born on December 4, 1923, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late John Charlton Donald and Elizabeth Johnson Donald. Mrs. McElroy was a member of the Ben Salem Presbyterian Church and retired from Burlington Ind. after 40 years. She was the widow of James V. McElroy. Mrs. McElroy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a son, Charlton Lebo McElroy and wife, Patty, of Buena Vista; and two grandchildren, Matthew C. McElroy and wife, Sharron, of Pulaski, and Michael J. McElroy, of Buena Vista. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2008, at Bolling Grose & Lotts Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2008.
