Virginia Dalton Obituary

Virginia Pauline Goad Dalton, 85, of Dugspur, died August 23, 2008, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital from complications of diabetes. She was born in Carroll County October 7, 1922, to Garrett and Sallie Marshall Goad. Preceded in death in 1996 by her husband, William Clive Dalton, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and William Helton, of Fredericksburg, Cecilea and Edward Harper, of Newport, Tennessee; a son, William Roland Dalton, of Dugspur; five grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Tina Iroler, of Dugspur, Monecia and George Taylor and Karen and William L. Helton Jr., of Fredericksburg, Sharon Harper, of Archdale, North Carolina, and Kelly Harper, of Winston Salem, North Carolina. She is also survived by 13 greatgrandchildren and seven greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel, in Hillsville, 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Reverend Edward Lanning and the Reverend J. Alfred Pinkerton officiating. Interment will follow in the Branscome Cemetery. The family will receive friends on hour before the services at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 1200 Double Cabin Road, Dugspur, Virginia 24325 or to the Dugspur Rescue Squad, 118 Double Cabin Road, Dugspur, Virginia 24325.
