I knew Sherman as we both worked at a local coffee company years ago, but I had not seen him since 1989. Sherman will always be remembered by me for his attributes of being kind, calm, respectful and humorous. When I think of Sherman I always think about all of our interactions and that they were all good and pleasant and intertwined with some really good laughter. So I do want to say in tribute that "Sherman was a really nice man and I pay thanks to him for that" . Though that may sound vague and simple, I truly mean it as the highest compliment. May God Bless Him.

Sherman Firebaugh was one of the finest men I ever knew. In the '60's, when I sold for Colgate, he was the buyer at Mick or Mack. He told me so much about Greenridge Baptist Church, that when we moved to Roanoke I made sure to buy a house near Greenridge! There, we became friends with Sherman and Maxine - a fine, Christian couple beloved by all who knew them. My heartfelt sympathy to the children and the rest of the family. I will hold you and the memories of your parents in my heart.
