Nancy Jordan Obituary

Nancy O'Neil Jordan, 79, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday evening, August 25, 2008 ,at her residence. She was a retired substitute teacher in Roanoke City Schools with over 20 years of service. Nancy was the widow of Donald Lewis Jordan Jr.; and was also preceded in death by her father, Joseph V. O'Neil; and a son, Donald Lewis Jordan III. Surviving are her mother, Alice O'Neil, of Roanoke; a sister, Susan Homchick, of Carlsbad, Calif.; a son, Jeff Jordan, of Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Mary Jordan, of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Catherine Jordan, of Asheville, N.C., Neil Jordan, of James Island, S.C., Margaret Jordan, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sarah Jordan, of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to Carol Williams and Cindy Campbell for their loyal and dedicated caregiving to Nancy. A special thanks also to Heartland Home Health and Good Samaritan Hospice. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008, from Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 20181, Roanoke, Va. 24018. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
