Geoffrey Stuart Dowling

Geoffrey Stuart Dowling, 59, of Bedford, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at his residence. Born July 15, 1949, in Glencove, N.Y., he was a son of the late Robert and Leslie Stevens Dowling. Mr. Dowling was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam conflict. He was a retired salesman and graduated from Lynchburg College. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Jennelle Dowling, of Bedford; a brother, David S. Dowling, of Oregon; his four special cats; the entire Bible family; and other special friends. Geoff was given outstanding and loving care by his wife and special friends during his illness. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008, at the Graham Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Hutton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Virginia Cancer Research and/or the Bedford Episcopal Church.
