Mary Hudson Obituary

Mary French (Frenchie) Boone Hudson, 67, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Bedford Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 3, 1941, in Roanoke, Va. She was the eldest daughter of Norval A. Boone Sr. and the late Eva H. Boone. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1960. Growing up she was involved in the 4-H club. She was also a life long member of the Bedford Christian Church and a member of The Order of Eastern Stars, a leader of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. For many years she worked and was known for her great customer service at several local businesses. Frenchie will also be best known as a caregiver in the Bedford community. She is survived by her three children, Jerry L. Hudson and wife, Beth, Michael D. Hudson and Lynette Jones, and Kristie H. Witt and husband, Michael; two sisters and two brothers, Barbara B. Witt and husband, John, Amy Quesenberry and husband, David, Dr. Frank D. Boone and wife, Barbara and N.A. Boone Jr. and Eddie Austin; her father, Norval A. Boone Sr. and wife, Gracie; three grandchildren, Kyndall and Conner Witt and Eva Hudson. Along with many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Bedford Christian Church and at other times at the home of her brother, N.A. Boone Jr., on 1234 Boone Drive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 1, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Bedford Christian Church with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bedford Christian Church building fund and Memorial Garden. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 317 W. Main St., Bedford, Va., 540-586-7360.

To the Family of Mary French, I am a friend from the Radar Site, Charles Paxson. I Married Cecil J Layne from Lowery, Va. Friends of Martha Johnson-Faucher & George West just to mention a few. We knew her only briefly but respected her & liked her very much. She was kind & never stuck up & always had time to say "HELLO".
