Hilda Barton Obituary

Hilda Louise Barton, 50, of Hardy, loving mother and meemaw, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 28, 2008, after a long and courageous fight with lung cancer. She was employed by Wal-Mart at Valley View for 12 years. Hilda was preceded in death by her father, Howard "Bud" Sawyers; and two sisters, Betty Dadian and Connie Sue Barnette. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Virginia and Jack Morris; one son, Stephen Barton and wife, April; one daughter, Angela Vaughn and husband, Joe; two brothers, Bill Sawyers, Dennis Morris; four sisters, Carol Caldwell, Patty Irvin and husband, Paul, Lisa Widner and husband, Johnny, Diane Osbourne; five grandsons, Jesse, Brandon, Ashton, Damien, and Carmine; special sister, Cathy "Sis" Dielbert; many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Sherwood Memorial Park, in Salem, Va., with the Rev. Billy Ronk officiating. Please send all floral arrangements directly to Sherwood Memorial Park for the Hilda Barton funeral. The Barton Family is being served by Valley Funeral Service, 1609 Peters Creek Road NW, Roanoke, Va. 24017, 540-562-1182.

TO PATTY AND THE BARTON FAMILY

I just found out today about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of sorrow. She was such a great person. I met Hilda through Patty at my Tanning Salon (Electric Beach), several years ago. Please know that each of you have my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.
