Mark Davis Obituary

Mark Anthony Davis, 23, our precious son, has gone home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 22, 2008. He was preceded in death by his special friend, Brian Cook; grandparents, Bertha Keith Dooley, Harry Junior Dooley and Carroll Dooley; greatgrandparents, Joie Delmar Keith and Flora Mae Keith, Harry and Stella Dooley. Surviving are his parents, Melanie Davis Amos and Sidney Spencer Amos Jr. and father, Gregory Clark Davis; grandparents, Paul and Georgia Hill and Gene and Shirley Davis; a special great-aunt, Norene Keith Brubaker; aunts, Trisha and Angela Hill, and Sabrina Atkinson and husband, Brent; special cousins, Sarah Elizabeth Reed and Renee Atkinson and other cousins; also several great-aunts and great-uncles. Mark Anthony was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke, he was a Christian and loved to read his bible daily. He loved sports, dirt biking and especially basketball. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at noon with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Flowers are appreciated or contributions may be made in memory of Mark Davis to NAMI-RV, P.O. Box 20864, Roanoke, Va. 24018-0864.
