Suzanne Jobe Obituary

After a 10 year courageous battle with brain cancer and multiple sclerosis, Suzanne Lynn Jobe, 56, of Virginia Beach, Va., died peacefully in a local hospital on Thursday, August 21, 2008. She was the beloved daughter of Leonard Jobe and Mildred Jobe. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Buescher, with whom she shared 17 years of marriage; her sister, Betty Barrett and her husband, Phil; her stepdaughter, Ashley Buescher; stepgranddaughter, Lauren; and her dogs, Jackie 0 and Fergie. Suzanne was born in Roanoke, Va. She was a 1975 graduate of Roanoke College, where she graduated with a degree in business administration. In 1979 she moved to Virginia Beach in 1979 as a Flight Attendant for Piedmont Airlines and later US Airways. In 1984 she moved to Marathon, Fla., when Piedmont opened a flight attendant base in Miami. The best times for Suzanne were the days she flew the F28 "shuttle" throughout the Caribbean. Her fond memories of Virginia Beach brought her back where she resided for the past 10 years. A special thanks to her caregiver, Mary Hicks; her neurosurgeon, Dr. Patrick J. Kelley; and her oncologist, Dr. Michael Gruber, of NYU Medical Center, for their caring and kindness to Suzanne. They were always just a phone call away whenever she needed them. Her devoted physical therapist, Winn Pham, who instilled hope and inspiration to walk again following her stroke in November 2004 and numerous "best friends," friends and many admirers. She will be truly missed. A special thanks to all who so kindly supported Suzanne during her illness. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2008 on the "Point" in Croatan at 440 S. Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach, Va. 23451. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Suzanne to The Brain Tumor Foundation, 1350 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 1200, New York, N.Y. 10019 or The Multiple Sclerosis Society, 760 Lynnhaven Parkway, Suite 201, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452.
