Tommy Hinkley Obituary

Tommy Wayne Hinkley, 55, of Radford, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at his home. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Hinkley; his parents, John and Betty Hinkley; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Jacinda Hinkley; brother and sister-in-law, David and Belinda Hinkley; brother-in-law, Bob Tatum; granddaughter, Aliesa Hinkley; special friends, Frank and Debbie Turpin, and Tina Tallent; six stepdaughters; several stepgranddaughters; and aunts and uncles also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at New River Baptist Temple with the Rev. Gary Stike officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery. VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the New River Baptist Temple. DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, is handling arrangements.

Grandma and Grandpa Hinkley, Jennifer and Travis......Dad and mom - I know that this is hard, and I am so sorry Tommy had to leave you early. Praise God he is no longer suffering, but even more so, praise God for Tommy giving his heart to the Lord not so long ago. I know you are in mourning right now, but know that I love you all and have each of you in my thoughts and prayers
