I remember Maude at the Kmart on Franklin Rd, and she reminded me of my dear aunt Ruby. I always felt that she was a good person with a kind heart. My condolences go to her family, friends, and all that knew and loved her. She will be missed. All these years I had no idea that she had the same first name as me. I haven't seen her in several years as I have moved from Roanoke.

Maude will be sadly missed. Every since my children were old enough to walk they always made sure they had money in their hand to put in the bucket at Kmart even if we went twice on a day. As soon as we walked in Kmart they wanted to be ready when they left because it was un heard of to leave without putting money in the bucket and of course they both had to put some in. Such a nice lady and it will not be the same. My boys ask last year where she was (Now 16 and 20) and the person who had taken her place explained her health had been bad.

She will certainly be missed. I'm sure that she helped many children develop a giving spirit like she did mine. She was always very pleasant and helpful holding the door for everyone!

I never personally met Maude but I just wanted her family to know what a pleasure it was to see her at K-mart every year collecting money for the Salvation Army. She was always generous and held the door for anyone who would exit. She will be sadly missed.
