My earliest memories of you are: running over to your house and asking you to make me rice pudding, to spend time with me, to play with me. Your house was like my home away from home, even though it was just next door. When you're a little kid, a home away from home is just a really nice feeling. Trips with you and my mom to the butcher shop, spending holidays with you and your family. Any time spent at the Halbeisen house was always so cheerful, loving and happy for me. It was probably you, Aunt Joan, who made it so cheerful and happy. I always felt that you had time to spend to make me feel good, if I was feeling sad. You touched me in more ways than you'll ever know, that have shaped me into the man I am today. The time I spent with you in my early childhood means so much to me, that you don't realize how much it means until you stop to think about it, like I am right now. I will miss you, my sweet Aunt Joan. Love, Robbie.

My heartfelt condolences to Joe, Patti, Richard, Mark, and the entire Halbeisen family. When I spoke with Joan in July she had her signature sense of humor. We had a nice chat about the good times on Tennent Rd. Patti you could tell in her voice how happy she was about your birthday visit.
