Phillip Perkins Obituary

Phillip Earl Perkins, 53, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008. Phillip was very adventurous and lived his life to the fullest touching many lives during his short 53 years. He accomplished anything that he attempted to do and enjoyed being a mechanic, flying kites, and building model cars. Phillip was preceded in death by "the love of his life," June (June Bug) Lawrence. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Edith Perkins, of Roanoke; two brothers, Paul M. Perkins and wife, Delores, of Shawsville, and Ronnie Perkins, of Roanoke; three sisters, Betty Holland and husband, Paul, of Clayton, N.C., Mary Cook and husband, Trink, of Wirtz, and Gina Gale Perkins, of Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and greatnephews; special friend and caretaker, Dawana Begley, of Roanoke; and many friends who will fondly remember him. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to hospice for all their loving and attentive care. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be private. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. The Perkins family is in the care of Valley Funeral Service, 1609 Peters Creek Road, N.W., Roanoke Va. 24017, 540-562-1182.
