Muriel Smith Obituary

Muriel Lois Rundle Smith, 94, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008, in Lynchburg, Va. Mrs. Smith was born in Burks County, Pa., to the late Milton Bradford and Lillian Elizabeth Atkinson Rundle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Heister Smith; and two sons, James Roger Smith and Kent Andrew Smith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Lyn Smith and special friend, Judy Edwards, of Gretna, Va., Kurt Smith and wife, Barbara, of Hillsville, and Jeffrey Smith and wife, Mary, of Lynchburg; brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Dorothy Rundle, of California; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Vaughan-GuynnMcGrady Chapel with Pastor Duane Steele officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the memorial service. A guestbook is available at www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
