Geneva Simmons Obituary

Geneva Board Simmons, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 94, of Wirtz, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 18, 2008. Geneva was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Joel F. and Henrietta Board. Her husband, Floyd Price Simmons, preceded her in death on June 4, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son, Sherman Simmons, in 1943; six brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Ninevah Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Simmons leaves three loving children to cherish her memory, two daughters, Shirley Leber and her husband, Donald, of Wirtz, and Lois Overstreet and husband, Aaron, of Hardy; a son, Melvin Simmons and wife, Judy, of Hardy; five loving grandchildren, Penny Simmons, Donald E. Leber, Sharon Anderson, Laurie Leber, and Timmy Overstreet; three greatgrandchildren, Kristin Brooks, Justin and Jacob Overstreet; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Franklin Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Roy Heinlen. Her family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road SW. Online condolences may be made to www.lotzfuneralhome.com .

Melvin, Judy and Penny, I was sad to see that Mrs. Simmons passed away. She was such a delightful person and I know loosing her is going to be hard. I hope to see you soon.
