William H. Blessing Jr.

William H. (Bill) Blessing Jr., formerly of Wytheville, Va., died on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Blessing Sr. and Carlee Umberger Blessing; and two sons, Barry Keith Blessing and Barton Shane Blessing. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Blessing, of the home; son, Michael and Sendy Blessing, of Cleveland, Tenn.; brothers-inlaw and sisters-in-law, Chris and Al Bowles, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Tootie Blessing, of Wytheville, Va., Lewie and Murhl Blessing, of Lyndhurst, Va., Jerry and Sandra Blessing, of Dublin, Va., and Kitty and Eric Wilkins, of Wytheville; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2008, in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Albert Bowles. A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2008, in the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Joe Mack Taylor. The family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 p.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery Fund at 200 Mt. Pleasant Road, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
