John Hendricks Obituary

God took John Walter (Butch) Hendricks home. It was His will, but in our hearts he liveth still. Early on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at age 70, God called John W. Hendricks to rest. He was born on November 6, 1937, in Dublin, Va., the son of the late Walter and Madeline Hendricks. He attended Calfee School and graduated from Christiansburg Institute. He was a well loved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather. He was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas K. Hendricks; and one son, Michael Buford. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Irene Hendricks; two daughters, Tracey Hendricks and Shannon Carter, of Pulaski, Va.; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Webb (Clarence), Anne Charlton and Wilda Cruise; two sisters-in-laws, Lillian Hendricks and Laura Casey (Calvin); one daughter-in-law, Joyce Buford; two brothers-inlaws, Roy Hunt and Eugene Hunt; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church with Pastor Leroy Henry officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time for services. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
