Johnny Waddle Obituary

Johnny D. Waddle, 62, of Rich Valley, passed away September 27, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. He was the son of the late Elmer and Nellie Waddle. Johnny was a well known Rich Valley farmer that served his community in numerous ways. He is survived by his wife, Patsy S. Waddle; two sons, J. D. Waddle and wife, Jeana and Scott Waddle and wife, Shelley; grandson, Tyler, the light of his life and expected grandson, Brody; brothers, Wayne and Donna Waddle, and boys, Greg, Travis and wife, Katie and Danny and Vicki Waddle and children, Ashleigh, Angel, and Derek; stepfather and friend, Randolph Hanshew; father and mother-in-law, Allen and Dorothy Stevenson, all of Rich Valley; brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Carol Stevenson, of Glade Spring, Dave and Donna Stevenson, Louie and Lena Stevenson, Phil and Emily Stevenson, all of Rich Valley, Larry and Sue Stevenson, of Marion; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Ridgedale United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Will Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday evening at the church. Pallbearers will be Greg Waddle, Travis Waddle, Louie Stevenson, Chad Stevenson, Ronnie Bowman, Sodonio Ortez, Derek Waddle, Larry Stevenson, Phil Stevenson, Ronnie Stevenson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Greater Blue Ridge Chapter, 959 Electric Rd. #222, Roanoke, VA 24018. The D.R. Henderson Funeral home in Saltville is serving the Waddle family.
