Carolyn Bowles Obituary

Carolyn Bowles, of Vinton, fell asleep in Jesus to wait his return, on October 8, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth Bowles; and her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Tim Harrell, Robin and Jim Ezekiel, and Melody and Bob Shockley. The pride of her life was her grandchildren, Robin Brandenburg, Paul Ezekiel, Jason Harrell and Kimberly Strunk. She also had four greatgranddaughters, Lauren Nichole Harrell, Claudia Harrell, Cleo Harrell, and Jaycie Dawn Strunk; and one great-grandson, Mark Allan Brandenburg, who is yet to be born; also, her younger brother, Billy Brooks. Mom lived a great life and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to bowl and work out in the garden and had a great sense of humor. She loved her husband, family and friends, especially, Etta and Phillip Manning, who have been friends for over 30 years and Larry and Cindy Auerbach in Pennsylvania. The family would also like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their kindness and love that they have shown the family and to our mother, especially, Sue Camden, Michelle Secagmilo, Kathy Moses and Marvin Barbre. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008, at the Roanoke Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1701 Memorial Avenue. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel and Crematory, 540-982-2221.
