Harold Simmons Obituary

Harold Lee (Buck) Simmons, 77, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday morning, October 12, 2008. He was retired from the city of Roanoke and was born July 23, 1931, to the late Arthur W. Simmons and Thelma Mae Ferris Simmons. Survivors include his wife, Jo Anne Roop Simmons; two daughters, Susan S. Van Dyke and husband, Robert, of Roanoke, and Brenda Simmons and fiancé, Tim Ryan, of Botetourt County; one sister, Edith Johnson and husband, Bill, of Amelia Court House, VA. A service celebrating Harold's life will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from the graveside at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
