Alice Carroll Obituary

Alice Mae Boyle Carroll, 86, of Roanoke, Va., died on Monday, October 13, 2008, at her residence. She was born on Friday, May 26, 1922, in Charleston, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late William Boyle and Nora Jane Grose Boyle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Marie Nichols; and a granddaughter, Angela Parrett. She was a member of Staunton Baptist Church. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, David Jerome Carroll; one daughter, Roberta Parrett, of South Charleston, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Linda Jo Woodbury and husband, Richard, of Durango, Colo.; one stepson, Randy David Carroll and wife, June, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one grandson, John David Nichols, of Bedford; one son-in-law, John Nichols, of Bedford; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Staunton Baptist Church, 15267 Smith Mtn. Lake Pkwy, Huddleston, Va. 24104. A celebration of Alice's life will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2008, at Staunton Baptist Church with Pastor Chris officiating.
