“Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me . . . “and when Brother Fred Jennings ministered; “He-The-Holy Spirit” quite literally did! As his friend and my Wife, Carol, loves to relate this following truth about Brother Fred; she rejoices in that same Spirit all-over-again, “When Brother Fred preaches, you laugh, you cry, you shout and you rejoice; all in the same sermon!” We love to rejoice together with such delight, Sister Geneva, as we remember the beautiful times that still feed our souls that we have enjoyed with you and Brother Fred! Wherever we met we had a Spiritual revival, a brush-arbor meeting, a family-in-Christ-get-together! We never took leave of you special folks; but, that we wished it could have gone on forever!
We are heartbroken together with you, Dear Sister, your children and grandchildren, your family, your community and the rest of our dear brother and sisters in Christ Jesus. But we will not sorrow as those who have no hope! Brother Fred would have reminded us that our separation would be short to him as he walks and talks with Jesus face-to-face. His faith made whole! The much longer wait remains to all of us who love Fred so dearly. Even our Lord wept at the death of such a precious friend as Brother Fred is to “his congregation”. With tear-filled eyes and deeply wounded hearts, Sister Geneva, we offer our love, prayers and urge you and yours to call on us at any hour of the day or night if we could be of any assistance whatsoever. We offer you our Deep Love in Christ, Dale and Carol Webb.

I worked at the local radio station in Sparta, NC several years ago and had the pleasure of personally knowing Rev. Jennings when he would broadcast his sermons there. His spirituality, strong faith in God, and overall sincerely warm, loving personality was contagious. He truly practiced what he preached and is certainly sharing that smile with all in Heaven.

Preacher Fred will always have a special place in my heart. He was our pastor at Sharon Baptist Church when I was a child. May God give you peace and comfort knowing that he is now in Heaven with our Lord and Savior.

Bro. Fred will always hold a special place in our hearts. He has touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. He's now living in that place that he preached about for many years, and best of all --- he's with Jesus! We're going to miss him, but we know that we will see him again!

Geneva and family,

Maria (Murray) was in the hospital when Fred went on to the glory that he talked about for so many years. She has never ceased to talk and ask about him and constantly refers to herself as he used to call her, "Fred's little angel".

He was so special and blessed so many people... he will be greatly missed.

Our prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Fred and my dad (Paul Burris) were good friends and worshiped together for many years. Now they are together again!

My Dad and I were so sad when we heard the news about Fred. He was a dear man that I recall as a person that never knew a stranger. As a great- niece, I do recall sweet memories with my dear relatives on my Grandfather's side of the family. My fondest memory will always be Fred having prayer with my "Paw-Paw" and I was so deeply touched as I watched both of them touched in the spirit as tears of love and fellowship dripped from both of their faces. He will always be a part of our memory book of loved ones. My Dad, "Tommy", was very sad today when we shared the news and wants his aunt to know how much he will always be loved and never forgotten.

I have many fond memories of Brother Fred, especially listening to him preach at the New River Baptist Church. I remember thinking many times "When I grow up, I want to be like him".

Fred was a true Man of God and he meant so much to me and my family. His testimony is declared in the Word he preached so faithfully.

(II Timothy 4:7-8) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

My thoughts and prayers are extended to the family in this time. God bless you all.
