Anna Lou Murray McLeod

1924 - 2008

Anna Lou Murray McLeod, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008. She and her twin, Alice, were born in Hollins on July 11, 1924, the daughters of the late Gordon and Floella Patterson Murray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. "Mac" McLeod Sr.; sisters, Fay Dove, Ruby Halsey, Ola Hurt, and Lucy Williams; and a brother, Lawrence. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Richard Jr. and Sandy, of Starkville, Miss., Gordon and Jan, of Roanoke, Neal and Laura, of Herndon, Va., and Michael, of Richmond, Va.; her twin sister, Alice Hickman, of Kingsport, Tenn.; six grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and a special caregiver, Jackie Early. Anna is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Anna's extended family at the Court of Roanoke for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Avenue, Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24015.
