Fred Pratt Obituary

Fred (Clinton) Pratt, 68, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mullins and Alma Pratt; his brothers, Ivan, Hubert, Aldon, Melvin and Lenford Pratt; sisters, Wilma Hubbard and Christine Bower; brothers-in-law, Luther Buckner, Flem Poff, David Bower, and Victor Nunley; and his father-in-law and motherin-law, Daniel and Jean Nunley. Mr. Pratt served his country in the United States Army and the Army Reserve. He was retried from Monarch with over 22 years of service. He loved antique cars and doing odd jobs around the house. He had many friends and always had a smile on his face. Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Violet N. Pratt; son, Fred Clinton Pratt II; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Jeff Warf; granddaughter, Brittany Warf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawton and Helen Pratt, Freeman and Rosie Pratt, and Mary Pratt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Paul Gunter, Mary P. Buckner, and Pauline Poff; brother-in-law, Gordon Hubbard; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and other family and friends; brothers-in-law and spouses, Russell and Helen Nunley, Daniel and Elva Nunley, Ernest and Sandra Nunley, and Larry and Diane Nunley; sistersin-law and spouse, Betty and Buck Perry, Sue Bryant, and Nancy Nunley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008, at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008, in the Horne Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. James E. Walker with entombment in the Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Pratt family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, Va. Online condolences may be sent to www.hornefuneralservice.com.
