Odessa Shelton Moorman

Odessa Shelton Moorman, 88, of Goodview, Va., passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008. She was the widow of Charlie D. Moorman Jr.; and was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert B. and Jennie D. Shelton; and three brothers, Vern R. Shelton, Robert A. Shelton, and Carl W. Shelton. Odessa is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Sue Moorman, of Goodview, and Jerry and Joyce Moorman, of Vinton; three grandchildren, Shane D. Moorman, Travis J. Moorman, and Sarah Moorman; six great-grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; four sisters, Danes Naff, of Vinton, Katherine Short and Linda Stultz, both of Roanoke, and Brenda Chittum, of Vinton; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held noon on Saturday, November 1, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Clayton Moorman and Pastor Tom Moran officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
