George Kassebaum Obituary

George Henry Kassebaum, 81, of Salem, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 1, 2008. He was born in Woodhaven, Long Island. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann. He served in the Navy and was a retired letter carrier. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va. He was blessed with a singing voice and played saxophone and was interested in Lionel trains. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and wife, Gwen Kassebaum, Richard and wife, Stephanie Kassebaum, Charles (Chuck) Kassebaum and daughter, Eileen; grandchildren, Kirk and wife, Sabriyyah, Brandi, Brendan and wife, Misty, Jonathan and wife, Ashley, Michael, Kelly, Trisha, Steven and Ricky, greatgrandchildren, Orion, Devin, Evaleese, Bryce and Elijah; sister, Barbara and husband, Tom Maloney, of Port Richey, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Henry Weigand, of Largo, Fla.; Barbara Cummings and Liz Healy. A service will be held in Long Island from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2008.
