Lloyd Arnold Obituary

Lloyd L. Arnold Sr., 69, of Salem, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 4, 2008. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death was a son, Kenneth Arnold; and a daughter, Kathy Guthrie. His surviving family includes his wife of 49 years, Judy Arnold; son, Lloyd Arnold Jr.; daughter, Karen Duncan and husband, John; sisters, Nelie Kay Stump and husband, C.W., and Norma Stone; grandchildren, Angie Slater and husband, Scott, Barry Guthrie Jr., Jamie Guthrie, Kristina Duncan, Jackie Duncan, Elizabeth Duncan and Brandy Duncan; great-grandchildren, Samantha Slater, Caleb Slater and Lexi Hamblin; mother-in-law, Virginia Maxey; brother-in-law, Don Maxey; and son-in-law, Barry Guthrie Sr. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 6, 2008, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008, in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
