I remember David and the entire family from my childhood on the Roanoke River. A person couldn't have had a better childhood friends. Time has gotten away and it has been a very long time since I've seen any of you. I have very fond memories of all of you. I'm shocked that David has passed on. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. I could never ask for better childhood memories than you all have provided me. May God Bless David, I'm sure he is with him now.

With deepest sorrow, I wish to express my condolences to your family. Although I haven’t seen David in years, I fondly remember so many great times spent with him in school at Shawsville. I’ll always remember the day we graduated from high school and him giving me a his long knit stocking hat as a gift. That memory still touches my heart today. Rest in peace my friend.

I was very shocked, and saddened by hearing one of our dear classmates has passed. David was very special and I'll always have great memories of us in the SHS class of '82. After all these years, I still remembered his birthday (exactly a week after mine): that was very special to me to celebrate our birthdays so close together. I will never forget that date, nor the sweet guy he really was. My prayers are with all the family and many friends who knew David.

David was a great friend. He, like all other classmates in SHS 82, could make contact YEARS later and just pick up with the same acceptance as true friend. We had a special class, made so by special people. I am so sorry to hear of David's passing and will keep the family in my prayers. David, while quiet at times, was a deep thinker and an even deeper 'feeler'. He would do anything for his friends. God bless this family...

I was so shocked to hear that David had passed away. I have fond memories of our friendship as little kids playing outside at his home in Alleghany. (I swear that house was haunted!). In high school, David always had a smile on his face and a kind word for anyone who passed his way. I can't remember David not smiling! I am very sadened at his passing and convey the greatest of sympathies to his family from both my mother and myself.

Clyde brought Dave home to work on his campaign Dec. '08. Little did I know how close we all would become. Dave truly became a member of the family. There wasn't a man who loved government more than Dave. No one read; watched (TV, films, movies, etc.); or participated in anything government more than Dave. There wasn't anyone who was THERE any faster than Dave, NO matter how much was on his plate, for anything Clyde needed! There wasn't anyone who could think of government ideals, plans and solutions like Dave. There is a HUGE hole in my/our hearts - a Dave hole! And IT FEALS REALLY BIG
and EMPTY. We are going to miss David Mull, a LOT, every day! We loved him so very much! Bobbie (and Clyde)("Malloy for Congress")

I only knew Dave for a short time. But his presence in my life has was a great moment. Dave was someone who would give you the shirt off of his back. Then he would explain the process of how to give the shirt! LOL! I will miss him very much!
