Clifton Trail Obituary

Clifton Willard Trail, 71, of Elliston, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008. He was born April 19, 1937. He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Trail. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Anna Joyce Sharpe Trail; sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton William and Elaine Trail, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Roderick Todd and Krystal Trail, of Kathleen, Ga., Michael Allen Trail, of New Castle. He is also survived by his mother, Ocie Trail; sister, Lucille Pendleton, of Salem; grandchildren, Gregory, Derek and Jessica Trail; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Suthers, Wytheville, Darlene Burcham, Tobaccoville, N.C., Donna and Kenneth Perdue, Salem, Norma Goens, Salem, Verna Sharpe, Salem, Lanny Sharpe, Hammond, Ga., Sandra and Woody Wellons, Elliston; several nephews, nieces and lots of friends. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ben Lockhart officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of N.R.V. for their love and care for Clifton and his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Clifton Trail may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice of N.R.V., 125 E. Arrowhead Trail, Christiansburg, Va. 24073 and a special thank you to Dr. Robert Heath. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
