Adelaide Mason Obituary

Adelaide Hardy Mason, 84, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Warrenton, died on Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2008. She was a retired librarian from the Fauquier County School system with over 25 years of service. Ms. Mason was a former member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Warrenton, and was a current member of Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Roanoke. Surviving are two sons, Thomas F. Mason and wife, Dorothy, of Newark, Ohio, and L. Hardy Mason and wife, Elizabeth Kyle, of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; a daughter, Adelaide Bass "Dee" Mason, of Roanoke; their father, T. Freeland Mason, of Richmond; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2008, from Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Becky Crites officiating. Interment will take place 1 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, from Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Boston. While flowers are appreciated, memorials may be made to Saint Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, 2339 Grandin Road, S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24015, or The Roanoke Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 11525, Roanoke, Va. 24022. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
