Genevieve Steger Obituary

Genevieve Frazier Steger, 85, of Narrows, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. Born on June 22, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Josiah David and Gertrude Blankenship Frazier. She was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Carl Steger; a brother, Arnold Frazier; and a sister, Norma Frazier. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susan Steger, of Catawba, and James Carlton Steger and Patricia Neff, of New Castle; a grandson and his wife, Jace Clinton and Kelly Steger, of Catawba; one greatgranddaughter, Avery Steger; three sisters, Mildred Caldwell, Patty Martin, and Loretta Turner; and four brothers, Roy (Buddy) Frazier, Billy Frazier, Lacy Frazier, and Jerry Frazier. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008, in The Forks of John's Creek Christian Church with burial following in the Huffman Cemetery on Johns Creek in Craig County. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke on Friday evening, November 14, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to kendallfuneralhome.com.
