Nancy, Natalie, Emily and family, You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Your mother was a remarkable person and a long time favorite of mine. I am so sorry she is gone but she remains in our memories: she was my sister Ruth's college roommate, my children's kindergarten teacher, my good church friend for many years. I shall miss her. Love to all of you. Marge Dull/Youngman

Your mother was my childrens' kindergarten teacher at Wasena School in 1970 & 1975. All through the years, she never forgot them. I will miss visiting with her when I would see her at Lewis Gale Clinc/Physicians. In later years as her eyesight was failing, I would stop to talk, and before I could finish telling her who I was, she would be asking about my 'children' and calling them by name! She 'knew' my children, and many years after the time she had made a 'prediction' about their futures, I told her that at the time she said it, I thought her to be wrong; she immediately laughed and said 'I was right, wasn't I?' She had been! She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by many. I know I will miss seeing her smiling face.

Mrs Carter was my Kindergarten teacher at Wasena Elementary School. I loved her as my teacher she was so sweet. My dad is a retired Roanoke city firefighter and she always called me the firemans girl. I am now 42 and I seen Mrs Carter several years back and she remembered me and said you were the firemans girl. Sorry for your loss. I will always remember her. Melissa Franklin Saunders
