Ocie Weddle Obituary

Ocie Lea Weddle, 91, of Floyd, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, General W. and Eula Radford Boyd; loving husband, Delmer Edgar Weddle; sisters and brother, Frances Boyd, Lelia Hatcher, Wilson Boyd, Pauline Brockwell, Tempsy Moran, Goldie Nolen, and Sylvia Hatcher. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nita and Grover Akers, Darnell and Marshall James, and Judy Akers; sisters, Lucy Harris and Irene Spangler; nine grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Maberry Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at Topeco Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at the funeral home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Skyline Manor Nursing Home for the care given to their mother over the past 14 years. A special thanks to Aunt Irene and Aunt Lucy for all the tender loving care shown to Mom. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, Va.
