Florence Akers Hogan

Florence Akers Hogan, 77, of Blue Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2008. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Charles E. "Pete" Hogan, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Eddie" Hogan, Jr. and Robin Hogan; daughter and son-in-law, Susan H. and Bruce Davis, all of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Melissa Gordon and Heather Hogan; great-granddaughters, Taylor Gordon and Keanna Hogan; sister, Mary Frances Bryant, of Hollins; also a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at Colonial Baptist Church, 221 Hillcrest St., Blue Ridge, VA 24064. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Colonial Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Dooley officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday November 16, 2008 at Oakey's East Chapel. 540-977-3909.
