Ruphina,
This past week has been particularly difficult for you and the family. I want you to know that I have been praying and will continue to pray for you. As humans, we are limited in what we can say and do, but God above will comfort you and supply your needs. The important counsel is this "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." [Philippians 4.6, King James Version]

The Okeyo family,
On behalf of my family and my own, I wish to extend my condolences to you on this sad occasion. Although I never met Dr. Okeyo I heard of him. Like the rest of us who come from little unknown corners of the world, he came to the USA to pursue studies and advance knowledge and a better life for himself and the family. I pray that you will get strength in his courage to try and give you best he could. He died on one Monday afternoon please remember and celebrate the many Mondays of joy you shared with him.

I will live with the guilt that James was sick for such a long time and I never came to see him, while I could still get time to speak with him. May God forgive me for that senseless gesture. I always loved James as a neighbor at Egerton University (EU), loved him during and after joining him at Va Tech, and will always remember his fun whenever we met, with fond memories.

I will always miss his gentlemanly composure under stress and his ability to poke fun at a desperate situation.

Until we meet again, I will PRAY for God to remember his good works and grant him a place in eternal life. I have always prayed for James in different situations.

I will SURELY miss you buddy!
