Delitha Whorley Obituary

Mrs. Delitha Fern Whorley, 79, of Goodview, Va. passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008. She was born in Franklin County, Va. to the late Hubert and Zella Bond Thomasson. Delitha was preceded in death by her son, William Whorley, Jr. Survivors include her husband, William, Sr.; her children, Alfred (Connie), Doretha (Dennis), Barbara (Charles), Thomassena (Patrick) and foster daughter, Gail; grandchildren, Latrika (Maurice), LaChelle (Walter), Alfonzo (Nicole), Renee, Teresa, Sharon and Debra; great-grandchildren, Dominique, Timothy, Lydia, Antonio and Marquez; aunt, Doris Jones; brothers and sisters, William Thomasson, Bobby Thomasson (Roxie) , Vida Whorley, Janet Thomasson, Ora Ingram (Mack), Bernice Smith (Lonzo) and Macie Butler (Robert); brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Shirley) Whorley, Rogger (Ida) Whorley, Robert Whorley, Mildred Whorley and Elsie Whorley; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Dr. William H. Doubler, Sherry, Kenny, Sandra, Jennifer, Brenda and nurses in VPCU at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel, with the Rev. Henry Haskins officiating. The interment will be in the Whorley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Friends may call on Monday afternoon for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
