Mary McBride Obituary

Mary Bolling McBride, 84, of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Born March 22, 1924 in Bedford County, Mary was a former member of Mt. Ivy Baptist Church, a volunteer at Heavenly Manna and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Preceding Mary in death were her husband, Edwin Robert McBride, parents, Richard and Mary Robertson, brother, Jonna Bolling and sister, Lois Haupt. Surviving, to cherish her memory, are daughter and son-in-law, Gail White and husband, Richard, of Danville; grandchildren, Carrie Miller and husband, Chad and Daniel White and wife, Talie; great-grandchildren, Evan Miller, Ava Miller, Isaiah White and Annalyse White; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eddie Hawks and Pastor Chad Miller officiating. Interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday December 1, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Mary's name to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018.
